Job Description:
Develop business intelligence (BI) reporting to meet the needs of company management focused primarily on metrics related to product quality and reliability, and the effectiveness of the Dot Hill quality management system.
Primary Duties:
- Defining data collection requirements, organizing data for effective analysis, and developing reports within Oracle OBIEE (Analytics) framework as directed by management.
- Defining and running reports against databases to extract data required for monitoring and management purposes.
- Analysis of data for accuracy, sanitization, trends, and relationships to manufacturing or business process issues and/or corrective action plans. This activity includes:
- An understanding of production and field data collection processes.
- An understanding of the use of production and field data to monitor product and process quality. (Control, Pareto and Yield Charts, Reliability metrics)
- Understanding of production, RMA and field processes and issues and the interrelationship of the data fields and sources
- Researching details of reported failures and issues.
- Developing detailed reports and summaries of analysis.
- Creation of graphic representations of data:
- Create and/or modify graphs within Analytics to show trends and patterns in quality metrics; identifying statistically significant trends or deviations from desired goals or control limits.
- Construct detailed drill-down capabilities and other search and relationship rules to allow appropriate levels of management to discover answers to their own inquiries.
- Associate improvement activities relative to identified negative trends and provide navigation to such reports.
- Develop ad-hoc quality reports as required by management, within Analytics or in stand-alone presentations (MS Excel, Minitab, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a data analyst including experience generating reports and integrating database information across platforms.
- Expert knowledge of spreadsheet software, including dynamic graphing and pivot table/graph development
- Knowledge of Oracle OBIEE (Analytics) highly is preferred.
- Proven record of working with multiple databases, process and reporting techniques.
- Associate degree in database administration, computer science, instructional design, economics, statistics or mathematics or four years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ASQ Certified Quality Process Analyst (QCPA) is preferred
