DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
- The Maintenance Planning and Performance unit at the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) assists in managing Colorado’s Highway system.
- This unit collects data and roadway condition assessments throughout the State.
- This information is used to generate and monitor the maintenance section budgets, as well as to utilize SAP software to produce a variety of reports and mapping products based on specific requirements.
- The purpose of this internship is to provide meaningful professional program and project management experience to eligible candidates with a proven academic performance and a strong desire to learn and contribute.
Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Analyze and outline existing processes; provide recommendations for improvements;
- Synthesize information and create business process documents and procedural manuals;
- Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of processes (including the use of continuous improvement practices and change management methodologies);
- Assist with coordinating meetings, agendas, and document outcomes and actions items;
- Provide project and initiative support;
- Other job duties as needed.

Work Environment:
- Monday – Friday, primarily from 7 AM to 3 PM, with the possibility of a different schedule
- If a current student, expected to work about 10-20 hours a week
- If a recent graduate, expected to work about 20-40 hours a week
