Phase I is April 6-10, 2015 9:00am to 4:00pm Boulder Marriott (Boulder, CO)
Phase II is a series of on-line question/answer sets followed by an on-line exam
Phase III you are assigned a personal mentor who will work with you via email, phone, or SKYPE/FaceTime to complete two assignments.

  • It is like having a personal consultant.

$4250.00 includes notebook computer with LSS Templates, text books, prep for SSD Global certification and all SSD Global Testing fees.

  • This fee also includes ASQ testing fees (for those who want to pursue an ASQ certification in addition to an LSS certification which is optional)

If you have any quality training needs in 2015, keep me in mind.

I offer a variety of quality classes such as:

  • Overview of Quality Management
  • Statistics: Principles and Applications
  • Process-Based Audits/Assessments
  • Service Quality

Many of the classes are helpful for those seeking ASQ certification and/or implementing an effective quality management system.

If the you have a specific quality need, I can customize a training class to meet that need.

If you are seeking ASQ certifications I do exam preparation classes for most certifications such as:

  • October/March exams
    • Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ//OE)
    • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE)
    • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB)
    • IMMEDIATE ATTENTION — If you are planning to take a March 1st exam (CMQ/OE, CRE, CSSBB) be aware the ASQ registration deadline in January 10th.
    • If you are planning to take this exams, you would need to begin intensive studying.
    • The March exams are offered again in October.
  • December/June exams
    • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
    • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
    • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB)
    • The next exam date will be June 7th (CQE, CQA, CSSGB).
    • The registration deadline for the June exams is April 15th.
    • The June exams are offered again in December.
  • Other certifications are available per request.
  • I offer public seminars only if the demand is there.
  • All my training can be offered at your location.
  • In-house training is more cost effective if you have 6 or more trainees.

  • Serve as chief executive officer of the section. Oversee all aspects of section management and lead all member leaders. Function as primary contact for regional director and headquarters.
  • Qualifications:
    • Full, Senior, or Fellow ASQ member in good standing affiliated with the section
    • Basic knowledge of society bylaws, policies, and procedures, and section operations
    • Must be willing to provide an e-mail address to ASQ Headquarters for communication
  • Time Commitment: Approximately 6 to 8 hours per month (outside of section and executive committee meetings)

Section Secretary (Required Position, Membership Elected)

  • Open Position need nominations
  • Document section business and maintain records of the section. Serve as the official correspondent of the section.
  • Qualifications:
    • Full, Senior, or Fellow ASQ member in good standing affiliated with the section
    • Have basic knowledge of Society’s and section’s operations, bylaws, and policies and procedures.
    • Must be willing to provide an e-mail address to ASQ Headquarters for communication
  • Time Commitment: Approximately 3 to 4 hours per month (outside of section and executive committee meetings).

Section Treasurer (Required Position, Membership Elected)

  • Current Treasurer: John Beachman, nominated to continue in this position
  • Other nominations are welcomed
  • Oversee section funds. Maintain accurate section financial records. Report on financial condition of the section at times directed by the bylaws and policies and procedures.
  • Qualifications:
    • Full, Senior, or Fellow ASQ member in good standing
    • Should have an understanding of budgeting and a basic understanding of accounting principles.
    • Must be willing to provide an e-mail address to ASQ Headquarters for communication
  • Time Commitment: Approximately 4 to 6 hours per month (outside of section and executive committee meetings)

Vice Chair (Optional, Membership Elected)

  • Open Position need nominations
  • Performs duties as directed by Chair in support of the organization’s mission and goals.
  • This position does not succeed to the position of Chair following the end of the first term
  • Qualifications
    • Must be an ASQ member in good standing.
    • Have basic knowledge of Society’s and section’s operations, bylaws, and policies and procedures.
    • Must be willing to provide an e-mail address to ASQ Headquarters for communication
    • Be willing to succeed to position of chair if that position is vacated.
  • Time Commitment: Approximately 6 to 8 hours per month (outside of section and executive committee meetings)

Arrangements (Optional, Section Chair Appointed)

  • Open Position need nominations
  • Oversee arrangements for all regular meetings of the section and other special programs and conferences.
  • Including order food and bringing water, soda to meetings.
  • Qualifications:
    •  Must be an ASQ member in good standing
    • Strong organization, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Time Commitment: Approximately 2 to 3 hours per month (outside of section and leadership committee meetings).

Education (Optional, Section Chair Appointed)

  • Open Position need nominations
  • Set goals/metrics to support the section’s management process as they relate to education
  • Arrange and determine format, presenters, resources, objectives, teaching methods and materials for educational events
  • Work with section recertification chair to determine certification course needs of the section
  • Qualifications
    • Must be an active ASQ member in good standing.
    • Should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to develop relationships with others.
  • Time Commitment: Approximately 3 to 4 hours per month (outside of section and leadership committee meetings).

Membership Chair (Optional, Section Chair Appointed)

  • Open Position need nominations
  • Responsible for section recruitment and retention efforts. Develop and implements plans to maximize membership renewal and encourage interested persons to join ASQ
  • Qualifications:
    • Must be a member of the section in good standing
    • Must be willing to provide an e-mail address to ASQ Headquarters for communication
  • Time Commitment: Up to 3 hours per month (outside of section and executive committee meetings)

Nominating Chair (Optional, Section Chair Appointed)

  • Open Position need nominations
  • Upon appointment by the chair, and concurrence by the section leadership committee, review the nomination and election requirements found in the section operating agreement
  • Qualifications:
    • Must be an ASQ member affiliated with the section
  • Time Commitment: Approximately 6 hours per year

ASQ Denver Immediate Past Chair Larry Stern died

ASQ Denver Section Immediate Past Chair, Larry Stern passed away early Tuesday (8 Oct 2013) morning suddenly and without warning.

  • He had been having some respiratory issues that the doctor did not think were life threatening.
  • He was a prime mover in re-initiating the Rocky Mountain Quality Conference.
  • He is survived by his wife, Terra Vanzant-Stern (who also a key leader with the Denver Section).
