Quality Assurance Manager

• The QA Manager will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the Company’s Quality Assurance program including the following:
• Department management and supervision
• Customer contact for QA/QC systems and processes including specification development, nonconforming products, process change notifications Approves customer quality requirements, provides analysis of specifications, and prepares order certifications
• Provide support to manufacturing through batch record review/approval and changes, conducting failure investigations, raw material qualification and product specification
• Finished goods inventory management

Education and/or Experience:

• Must have 10+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field required.

Skills:

• Demonstrated management and supervisory skills
• Skilled in the standards, concepts, practices, and procedures within the quality field
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to lead and direct teams and/or committees
• Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Ability to work at all levels within an organization and the ability to work in a diverse work group.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.

• ERA has been in business for over 30 years and is the industry leader in environmental proficiency testing materials. We also specialize in certified reference materials and custom products for environmental and pharmaceutical applications. ERA product offerings also include reagents, solvents, and calibration products for analytical instrumentation including LC, LC/MS, GC, and GC/MS.
• The Quality Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.
• Execute, maintain and improve the Calibration Control and Preventive Maintenance programs.
• Lead the Supplier Quality program to ensure adequate supplier approvals are obtained, applicable audits are performed and supplier surveys are delivered, tracked and evaluated.
• Participate in the CAPA process as an action owner and quality reviewer.
• Develop, compile and present quality metrics
• Participate in internal and external Quality System audits
• Participate in the management of the company’s document control system
• Assist with quality-related activities associated with raw material acquisition and receiving and in-process inspection (writing inspection plans, managing the Material Review Board activities)
• Assist with writing and executing equipment and process validations, test method validations, test protocols and reports
• Serve as ERA’s Health and Safety Officer
• Conduct initial and continuing employee training related to ERA’s quality system and health and safety program
• Shut down any work activity that does not conform to ERA’s quality system or poses a potential health or safety threat

Required Education/Training/Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in science and at least 3 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience.
• Experience working within an ISO registered Quality Management System.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025/Guide 34 preferred.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, PC skills, and the ability to function independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to apply theoretical and practical knowledge to commonly encountered quality problems.
• Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis requires a review of identifiable of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
• Demonstrates enthusiasm to learn and share new methods and techniques within area.
• Takes initiative and demonstrates inquisitive approaches to solve moderately complex problems, identifying problems, generating alternatives and recommending solutions.
